Upcoming Senior Expos offer opportunities for older Pennsylvanians

Today’s senior citizens helped lay the foundation for our communities through their diligence, persistence and a lifetime of hard work. Numerous programs are designed to ensure older state residents have access to the basic necessities of life. In the coming weeks, my office will participate in a pair of senior expos in local communities to ensure we can match these services to the citizens who need them most.

My staff will be available to provide information on state programs and services at the following events:

• Diakon Living and Learning After 50 Expo at the Fairlane Village Mall in Pottsville from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, and
• Berks Encore Senior Expo at the Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex in Wyomissing from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27.

Information will be available on a wide variety of topics of interest to senior citizens, including state programs designed to assist older state residents such as the Property Tax Rent Rebate program and the PACE and PACENET programs. I encourage senior citizens to make arrangements to attend one of these events and learn more about the programs and services available to older Pennsylvanians.
