PIDA Loan Benefits Empire Education Group

HARRISBURG – Empire Education Group (EEG), a Schuylkill County based company, has been awarded a $2 million loan through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA), according to State Senator David G. Argall (R-29).

The EEG expansion project, which includes a new 30,000 square ft. office space and the renovation of the existing 64,000 square ft. building, is expected to create 159 new jobs in Schuylkill County. The project will also construct a new access road to and from State Route 61 benefiting EEG and surrounding businesses. The Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) was the recipient of the loan.

PIDA provides low-interest loans through local industrial development corporations for land and building acquisition and construction or renovation. The program targets manufacturers, industrial developers, research and development firms, agricultural processors and employers establishing national or regional headquarters.
