Argall Introduces Cost Cutting Measure

HARRISBURG – A measure to reduce government spending and ease the fiscal burden on Pennsylvania’s taxpayers has been introduced by State Senator David G. Argall (R-29).

Senate Bill 1477 would permit the Legislative Reference Bureau (LRB) to “publish” in an electronic format the Pennsylvania Code and Bulletin instead of “printing” it, providing the necessary flexibility to LRB as they make the transition from an entirely printed document to one that will be much easier to produce and circulate around the state.

“During the six-month-long process of reviewing government spending, the Senate Government Management and Cost Study Commission outlined a number of cost cutting measures to reduce state expenditures and eliminate government waste,” said Argall. “Eliminating the printing of the Pennsylvania Bulletin was one of those measures, which is estimated to save hundreds of thousands of dollars. During a time of fiscal uncertainty, we need to be diligent in our effort to reduce costs,” Argall added.
