ALBRIGHTSVILLE – Senators David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill), John Yudichak (D-Luzerne) and Representative Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) today announced that bids will be opening in December for a new EZ-Pass-only interchange that would create an exit at Route 903.
“Sen. Yudichak, Rep. Heffley and I are pleased to see the progress that will allow vehicles to enter the Pa. Turnpike from Route 903 in Albrightsville,” said Argall. “This will not only allow further access for travelers, but also provide for greater commerce in our region by connecting it to one of the state’s main thoroughfares.”
“Growing our economy starts with investments in infrastructure projects like the Route 903 Interchange, and I’m pleased to see it moving forward,” said Yudichak.
“I am excited to hear that this project is moving forward, as I believe it will alleviate traffic congestion issues, make our local residents’ commutes easier and promote economic growth,” said Heffley.
The bids to begin the submittal process begin this month. Bids will then open in December of 2012 with construction expected to begin in the spring of 2013. The project will take two construction seasons to complete, putting the completion of the project during the winter of 2014.
More information on the project can be found on the Pa. Turnpike’s dedicated website: http://www.paturnpike.com/constructionprojects/Route_903_Slip_Ramp/home.html.
