The Good, the Bad, and the VERY Ugly: Argall Telephone Town Hall Kicks Off District-Wide Series of Public Meetings

MAHANOY CITY – Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) invites his constituents in Schuylkill, Carbon, and Luzerne counties to join him for a telephone town hall on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m. This event is the first of eight total town halls throughout Argall’s Senate district in the coming months focused on Governor Shapiro’s proposals to legalize marijuana and tax skill games, wasteful spending at vacant state-owned properties, and more key issues confronting Pennsylvania’s state government.

“No question is off limits, whether it’s about the good, the bad, or the very ugly of how our state government is operating,” said Argall. “In the past, we’ve had thousands of people join our telephone town halls to ask questions, respond to straw polls, or just to listen in.”

Residents of Schuylkill, Carbon, and Luzerne counties can sign up to receive a call or livestream the event at www.senatorargall.com/access-live/.

Beginning in May, Argall will host six in-person town hall meetings in communities in all three of the counties he represents. He will be joined by state representatives and local officials at each of the meetings, which will be scheduled in the morning, afternoon, and evening to give as many people as possible a chance to participate if they wish. Locations and times will be announced soon. The series will conclude with a final telephone town hall in June.

Throughout the series, Argall will ask those who join him to answer straw poll questions about hotly debated topics now under consideration in Harrisburg. During the final telephone town hall, the results will be announced.

“The most important part of my job as a state senator is to listen to the people who elected me and bring their concerns back to Harrisburg,” Argall continued. “I look forward to engaging with as many people as possible throughout this series about how we can improve our state government.”
