Argall Announces $8,000 For Park Crest Fish and Game

HARRISBURG – State Senator David G. Argall (R-29) today announced a grant award of $8,000 for the Park Crest Fish and Game Protective Association, Ringtown.

The grant, allocated as part of the 2008-09 budget, was used to lay blacktop from the main entrance to a dry-hydrant at its one-acre pond. Several fire companies including Brandonville’s Columbia Hose, Pattersonville, Ringtown and Sheppton-Oneida utilize the pond to fill their tankers and make water available all-year round for local fire prevention classes.

“Our first responders must be well-trained and equipped to deal with emergency situations,” said Argall. “I am pleased the Commonwealth recognized the importance of this facility utilized by our fire and EMS organizations.”

“This is money well spent,” said Jack Deesing, Member of the Park Crest Fish and Game Protective Association. “We appreciate Sen. Argall’s support.”

The funding was awarded through the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Community Revitalization grant program. The program’s primary goal is to help local governments, non-profit organizations and industrial development agencies work to improve their local communities, said Argall.
