MAHANOY CITY – State Senator David G. Argall (R-29) today invited local residents to join him at his Mahanoy City Office at One West Centre Street, for an Open House on Monday, November 9 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
“Constituent service is one of my top priorities and this office, first established by my friend and predecessor Senator Jim Rhoades, allows me to directly serve the residents of this area,” Argall said. “Additionally, the well-trained and experienced staff at this office ensures that all district residents can get a timely response to any state-related problem or issue.”
Argall said that the office offers a wealth of information on valuable state resources, including property tax and rent rebate applications, PACE applications, higher education grant applications, copies of maps, absentee ballot applications, voter registration forms, state brochures and public service information, state ID cards, renewal applications for vehicle and license registrations and other PENNDOT paperwork. The district offices also provide information and updates on legislation, as well as copies of state laws and pending legislation.
Maintaining the Senator’s northern Schuylkill County office has been well received. In a letter to the Senator, Lisa Zilker said, “As the manager of the Mahanoy Elderly High Rise Apartments in Mahanoy City, I would like to thank you (Sen. Argall) for keeping the late Senator Rhoades’ office located in Mahanoy City open. That office has been a valuable asset to the residents of Mahanoy Elderly as well as the entire city,” she said.
“As the author of Pennsylvania’s Downtown Location Act for state offices, I understand the need to provide services at a convenient location. This office has the added benefit of being owned by the community—every month, the rent that the state pays is utilized by Mahanoy City to further its downtown revitalization efforts,” Argall explained.
In addition to the Mahanoy City office, Argall has district offices to serve his six-county region in Pottsville and Hamburg and shared offices in Tamaqua and Orwigsburg with Rep. Jerry Knowles, Saylorsburg with Sen. Pat Browne and Slatington with Rep. Julie Harhart, as a means of reducing costs.
