HARRISBURG (May 31, 2017) To assist returning service members in navigating the patchwork of programs and services available to them and their families, Sen. David Argall (R-29) was joined by area veterans in unveiling an innovative new online resource, called the “Network of Care,” today at the Pottsville Career Link. “When service members return home, the transition from military to civilian life can be daunting,” Sen. Argall said. “The services and programs available to help them can be difficult to find, confusing and fragmented. This website is designed to be a convenient, comprehensive one-stop-shop for our nation’s heroes, so no veteran in need falls through the cracks.”
The site is customized to each veteran’s specific location to track all programs offered by countless organizations and governmental agencies and departments, including the Veterans Administration (VA), the Department of Defense (DoD), and the PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA).
Sen. Argall was also joined at the unveiling by Bruce Bronzan, President of Trilogy Integrated Resources, and a leading developer of the site as well as Representative Neal Goodman (D-123) and Representative Mike Tobash (R-125).
“My fellow veterans have told me they want a one-stop shop to find all the programs that are available. This website meets that need. As our veterans return home, settle into their normal lives, and seek employment, this website will help them cut through all the red tape,” added Representative Goodman.
Network of Care provides a comprehensive database compiling all federal, state, local and grassroots programs and services. Developed in conjunction with the National Association of Counties, the resource includes job boards, crisis services, hotlines, an advanced social networking platform, and articles targeted to veterans and their families.
“I appreciate the helpful services that exist here at home to assist our veterans make a smooth transition back into civilian life,” Representative Tobash said. “These men and women are our hometown heroes, and they deserve to have a helping hand available to get them set up to continue successful lives, including opportunities such as family-sustaining jobs.”
During the past decade, the Network of Care has serviced more than 30 million persons nationwide and trained hundreds of thousands both in person and online via the eLearning system, according to Trilogy officials.
“I am always pained to hear of veterans who were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for our homeland, but who came home to struggle with PTSD, joblessness, family readjustment, or other challenges,” Sen. Argall said. “We want veterans to never feel alone in their struggles. This site is one way we can help our veterans connect with others, and enjoy the freedoms we are all so blessed and grateful to have because of their sacrifices.”
