HARRISBURG – The April edition of the local TV program hosted by Senator David G. Argall (R-29) features recent Senate Budget Hearings where Senator Argall questioned the Governor’s administration about his proposed budget and its potential to raise the deficit by $13 billion over the next five years.
“Governor Wolf is a lame duck, he’s not going to be in office this time next year,” Senator Argall said. “His proposed budget would see spending increase by $4.5 billion and could leave us with a $13 billion hole by 2026.”
Analyzing the Governor’s proposed budget, both staff with the Senate Appropriations Committee and the nonpartisan, Independent Fiscal Office have calculated that it would increase the state’s deficit in the billions of dollars.
This edition of the Argall Report features Senator Argall questioning several members of the Governor’s cabinet including the Secretary of Revenue, the Secretary of Corrections, the Secretary of Human Services, the Acting Secretary of State, and the Secretary of the Budget. The Treasurer of Pennsylvania is also featured.
“If the Governor seriously believes that his budget as proposed will be approved by the House and the Senate, he’s mistaken,” Senator Argall continued. “My goal is to pass a budget that works for all Pennsylvanians that will deliver vital services, and not straddle citizens with billions of dollars of debt.”
