HARRISBURG – State grants totaling almost $5 million were awarded to projects to improve sewer and water systems in Luzerne and Schuylkill Counties, according to Sen. Dave Argall, Rep. Dane Watro, and Rep. Mike Cabell.
“By ensuring clean drinking water and preventing sewage from entering our creeks, improved water infrastructure affects so many of our communities,” said Argall. “These highly competitive state funds are very important.”
“Construction costs are on the rise for municipalities across the Commonwealth. That’s why it’s so important state funding like this is available to help complete infrastructure improvements they otherwise may not be able to afford,” said Watro. “I was happy to work with Sen. Argall and local leaders on identifying these projects and advocate on their behalf.”
“This funding will help Freeland’s municipal authority with vital infrastructure, and it’s an example of public money being well-spent. I know how important grants like these are to the small towns I represent,” said Cabell.
