MCKEANSBURG – Senator David G. Argall (R-29) and Representative Jerry Knowles (R-124) today announced road improvements are set to soon begin for a six mile section of Route 895, from the intersection with Route 61 in Molino to the split of Route 895 and Route 443 in New Ringgold.
“I’m thankful that this stretch of Route 895 will be seeing some much-needed improvements,” said Knowles. “This should be welcome news for the many residents of Schuylkill County that rely on the highway every day.”
“These improvements to our local infrastructure are vital for not only homeowners, but also local businesses,” said Argall. “At the town hall meetings I have held recently in the area, many constituents shared their concerns for repairing this route and I am pleased to see PennDOT respond to our requests.”
The project was awarded to Lehigh Asphalt Paving and Construction Company in Tamaqua. The road upgrades include base replacement, drainage improvements, guiderail upgrades, slope stabilization, bituminous concrete overlay, new pavement markings and milled centerline rumble strips.
The project will begin April 23 and be completed by October 19 of this year.
