HARRISBURG – A resolution sponsored by Senator David G. Argall (R-29) to study the economic impacts of breweries in Pennsylvania was adopted by the Senate on Wednesday.
Senate Resolution 216 will thoroughly examine the economic impacts, with a focus on jobs, of breweries in Pennsylvania through the General Assembly’s Legislative Budget and Finance Committee.
“The brewery industry is rapidly growing in Pennsylvania,” said Argall. “With the oldest brewery in Schuylkill County, along with new breweries opening throughout the state, we need to examine how far-reaching the economic impact is not just within the brewery industry, but how it benefits other industries. I am anxious to see how the state can help promote this job-creating industry within Pennsylvania.”
The Legislative Budget and Finance Committee will report its findings to the Senate on January 25, 2013.
