POTTSVILLE – This month’s local TV report by Senator David G. Argall (R-29) features Schuylkill County’s second annual youth summit held at the county courthouse.
The youth summit featured over 100 high school students from across the county weighing in on various initiatives centered on three presentations: public safety, quality of life, and jobs. The purpose of the summit is to gain valuable feedback from students from the county to shape the future of the county.
“After resounding success and some tweaking, the County Commissioners and Kay Jones of Schuylkill County VISION have made a strong and necessary commitment to having the input of the county’s youth. I applaud them and the private sector partners for their continued efforts to make the county and region more advantageous for our future generations,” Argall said.
Student ambassadors are set to meet at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park in Pine Grove to plan for next year’s event on July 14.
“The most valuable resource we have here in Schuylkill County is each and every one of you – the youth of Schuylkill County,” Commissioner Frank Staudenmeier told those in attendance.
