Argall: Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program Applications Deadline Extended

MAHANOY CITY – Senator David G. Argall (R-29) announced that the application deadline for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has been extended from June 30 to December 31.

The income eligibility level for the Property Tax Rebate Program is $35,000 a year, excluding half of Social Security income, and the maximum rebate is $650. The income eligibility level for the Rent Rebate Program is $15,000 a year, excluding half of Social Security income, and the maximum rebate is $650. Pennsylvania residents must be 65 years or older, widows and widowers 50 years or older, or those 18 years or older with disabilities to qualify.

Residents of the 29th Senatorial District may contact any of Senator Argall’s offices toll free at 1-877-327-4255 for applications or assistance in completing the forms, and are reminded to provide all necessary income, property tax or rental information required to process forms.

Residents that have already applied are reminded that their rebate checks will be released on July 1. Residents that apply after June 30 will receive their rebates as they are received and processed.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is one of five programs supported by the Pennsylvania Lottery. Since the program’s 1971 inception, older and disabled adults have received more than $4.8 billion worth of property tax and rent relief. The expanded portion of the rebate program is paid for with revenue from slots gambling.
