Senator Argall to Host ‘Senator for a Day’

TAMAQUA – On Friday, May 13, 2011, Senator David G. Argall (R-29) is hosting ‘Senator for a Day’ with eleven local area high schools. The program, which will be held in the Morgan Center at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Tamaqua from 8:00am – 1:30pm, allows high school students to propose legislation, hold votes and debate issues critical to state government. The unique opportunity allows students to learn and experience the legislative process.

Senator Argall noted the importance of understanding the state’s democratic process in approving legislation that impacts Pennsylvanians on a day-to-day basis. “I’m pleased to see a strong interest in state government with our local area high schools. This event is a great ‘hands-on’ workshop to educate the area’s high school students on state government. I look forward to seeing our future decision makers in a real-life scenario discuss current affairs and issues.”

The following high schools will be participating in Senator for a Day:

  • Blue Mountain
