POTTSVILLE – Six community improvement projects in Schuylkill County will receive state grants, according to Senator David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks) and Rep. Neal P. Goodman (D-Schuylkill).
The grants, totaling more than $350,000, were recently announced as part of the Community Conservation Partnerships Program administered by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
“I want to congratulate each of these communities for their successful applications,” Argall said. “These grants are highly competitive and required considerable effort on the part of the local elected officials and many local volunteers.”
“This is great news for residents from across Schuylkill County,” Goodman said. “Whether it is new playground equipment, construction of a trail and fishing pier or development of a park, these grants will improve recreation opportunities and, ultimately, improve the quality of life in local communities.”
