Conservation grants available to municipalities, nonprofits, land trusts, othersMunicipalities, nonprofits, land trusts and other eligible organizations can apply now for state recreation and conservation grants through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The Community Conservation Partnerships Program provides financial and technical assistance for the planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation and conservation and greenway projects. Projects include: Community parks major renovation and rehabilitation, land conservation, rivers implementation, trail projects, education and training. The Bureau of Recreation and Conservation staff is available to assist and webinars and workshops are available: http://events.dcnr.pa.gov Grant applications will be accepted through April 16, 2015. Learn more here Changes to the Notary Public LawUnder a new state law, Notary Public applications no longer require a senator’s endorsement. With this change, the Department of State is now accepting online applications. The online system will allow both new notary public applicants and those applying for reappointment to securely submit their application. You can visit the Department of State’s website here. Scholarship opportunities for Schuylkill County studentsThe South Schuylkill Garden Club is offering scholarships to any Schuylkill County high school senior with plans to attend an institution of higher learning within the following fields of study: horticulture, floriculture, landscape architecture, conservation, forestry, botany, agronomy, plant pathology, environmental control, land-use planning, land management and allied fields.
